Then I found your tip - installed the remaining 3 updates, rebooted after each download and install, and NOW Windows Update took 6 mins to find somewhat 30 new updates!THANK! I went to the Microsoft website to update windows. It worked for me. I have another question.

I prefer to download updates automatically, but Windows 7 has restarted my computer with absolutely no prompting whatsoever TWICE on me before my eyes, ruining work and a video game session. Worked 100% Don't know what we would do without people like you that figure things out and share.
